I Like My Words Well Behaved – Erin Duffy
I Like my words well behaved
I don’t like them to go astray.
They’re mine they belong to me.
They sit up straight on the page
Ill need new words soon
some are getting rusty and worn.
In A Posture of Grace – Ryan Forde
In a posture of grace
I’m standing at the stern
on the waves of recession.
She says ‘keep going
we’ll make it today.
Barack Obama makes a face
he says I’ll stop violence
no more troops to Iraq’.
And for these words
he wins The Noble Peace Prize
and earns even more grace!’
On Our Farm in Ballinamuck – Stephen Donnelly
On our farm in Ballinamuck
I drive around in my Dad’s tractor.
Oh!how I love driving that ‘65′
on the farm, on the lane in the fields.
Bringing home turf,
sitting in that seat.
As I turn that key
and hear the engine start
on our farm in Ballinamuck.
Up On a Wall in Longford – Stephen Donnelly
Up on a wall in Longford
I saw the tractors go by.
Valtras, Massy Fergusons and zetors
it was a powerful march.
Sitting there watching the display
and the sound of an 09 engine
going flying by.
